Landin’ in Trouble is a sweet and sizzling closed-door romcom that will have you laughing out loud. It also includes the sensitive topic of disordered eating. Please be aware should this be a triggering subject for you.
This was my first book from Brittany Larsen and I really enjoyed it! It dealt with difficult topics and situations and I felt that Brittany addressed them really well. She gave me a different perspective on people who deal with health issues and how they feel as they go through it (and even after it looks like they’ve completely conquered it).
I loved Landon’s personality and propensity for trouble. He was very funny and sweet with Brynn (even if he didn’t quite get everything right during the first time they tried to be together). I loved that Brynn viewed some of Landon’s comments/glances to be a challenge/dare and that she was determined to prove him wrong (even if he was so very right!).
I loved how both Landon and Brynn were with Miss Lily/Gran and would pretty much do anything for her despite knowing it was likely part of one of her matchmaking schemes. Some of my favorite scenes included: the group working with the kids, Brynn’s fake relationship attempts, Landon pushing Brynn about her relationship, the past and current yoga sessions, Gran’s attempts to matchmake, and when they go to the hospital.
Landon, also aptly known as Landin’-In-Trouble, has a knack for landing in trouble and then being able to charm his way out of it. This charm has even caught him the attention of a few beautiful women.
But the last girl he caught may have just caught him in return. She sees through him to his core and makes him feel grounded. Only problem is he may have messed everything up with her and the future they seemed to be going towards.
Brynn used to be a dancer in New York who was well known by the dancing community. But after a few different circumstances, she made the decision to stop pursuing it. She moved to a small town, started a few new jobs and created a strong friendship with Izzy.
She’s heard all about Landon from Izzy and is determined to dislike him, but when she meets him without realizing who he is she finds herself falling for his charm. But when all the charm convinces her to do things that go against every change she’s made for her betterment, Brynn knows she needs to cut Landon loose. They are just not right for each other.
It’s been a year since they broke up, but with Landon being back in town both of them are feeling things they hoped to have left in the past. Are they still the same people they were when they were together? Or have they both grown in the last year into better people that might have a second chance together?
